Good Afternoon from Braunschweig!

I am still adapting to this place and to the fact of not having blinds on the windows...so yeah! I suddenly have become a super morning person whether I like it or not hehe That is why I finally got a chance to prepare this post. I wanted to show you this mini I made about my last vacations in Mexico D.F. so bad and for so long!! So please sit down, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy! :)

When I started making the mini album I already knew I wanted to make super colorful and happy and detailed pages. I also tried to include different inserts and supplies so I look through my stash and I chose a bit of everything; project life cards, 12x12 papers, 6x6 papers, die-cuts, clips, alphabets, labels, tags, enamel dots, thickers, printables, wood veneers... and everything I could think of. Making this mini album was a great way to finish with all those half used packages, kits and random stuff.

When I make mini albums about travels I always try to place the photos as chronologically as I can. It will keep the memories on a better way. I always add the date on the first page with photos belonging to that day. Have you spotted them? I hope you don't get lost among all the cute details. I also try to incorporate photos of different sizes to make it more fun and interesting.

This journey was very special to me so I wanted to make a mini very special too. We were lucky enough to celebrate our birthdays together this year. We had tons of fun and we eat a lot of delicious things... because if you eat them on your birthday, all the calories don't count, right? ;)  We also discovered the city together. Although both of us visited the city previously we still found some new places to go.

I keep all the memorabilia inside the craft envelope. But as the album was already very thick with all the thickers and dimensional elements I didn't glued inside the last page, as I usually do, because otherwise the album wouldn't close properly. Instead of that, I keep it attached to the album with a ribbon at the back side, very easy to remove whenever I want to see the album or the inside of the envelope.

¡Buenas tardes desde Braunschweig!

Todavía estoy adaptándome a este lugar y al hecho de no tener persianas en las ventanas ... así que ¡sí! De repente me he convertido en una persona súper madrugadora tanto si me gusta como si no jeje Por eso finalmente tuve la oportunidad de preparar este post. Quería enseñaros este mini que hice sobre mis últimas vacaciones en México DF desde hacia tanto tiempo... Así que por favor tomad sitio, preparaos una taza de café y ¡disfrutad! :)

Cuando empecé a hacer el mini-álbum sabía que lo que quería era crear un mini con páginas súper coloridas y alegres y detalladas. También quería intentar incluir diferentes tipos de páginas y materiales así que busqué por mi mesa y elegí un poco de todo; tarjetas de Project Life, recortes, papeles 12x12  y también 6x6, maderitas, clips, alfabetos, etiquetas, tarjetas, enamel dots, pegatinas, imprimibles... y todo lo que podía encajar en un mini. Crear este mini-álbum ha sido una gran manera de acabar con todos esos paquetes utilizados a medias , kits empezados y cosas al azar que me habían sobrado.

Cuando hago mini-álbumes sobre viajes siempre trato de colocar las fotos cronológicamente, al menos tanto como sea posible y recuerde., de esta manera los recuerdos se mantendrán de una mejor manera. Siempre añado la fecha de los días en la primera página con fotos pertenecientes a ese día. ¿te has fijado? Espero que no se pierdan entre todos los detalles. También trato de incorporar fotos de diferentes tamaños para que resulte más divertido e interesante.

Este viaje fue muy especial para mí, así que quería hacer un mini muy especial también. Tuvimos la suerte de celebrar nuestros cumpleaños juntos este año. Disfrutamos un montón y nos comimos un montón de cosas deliciosas... porque si se comes un montón de dulces en tu cumpleaños, las calorías no cuentan, ¿verdad? ¿o no era así? ;) Visitamos también la ciudad juntos, aunque ambos ya habíamos visitado la ciudad anteriormente, todavía encontramos nuevos lugares por descubrir.

¿Y todos los tickets y recuerdos? Los he guardado todos en el sobre kraft. Pero como el álbum ya era muy grueso con todas los thickers y elementos dimensionales, decidí no pegarlo en el interior del album en la última página como suelo hacer, ya que no se cerraría correctamente. En lugar de eso, lo mantengo unido al mini con un lazo en la parte de atrás, muy fácil de soltar  para ver el álbum o el interior del sobre.

Mini album Top 10 (Janna Werner in KDS 6th Anniversary)

Hello!

As I promised I share today the mini album we made with Janna Werner at the 6th Anniversary of Kits de Somni in Barcelona. She suggested us to make a mini about ourselves or our interests. I am very used to make minis or pages about my friends, partner, family or travels but a few months ago I noticed that I hardly ever scrap about myself. Therefore, scraping more about myself has become one of my resolutions for this year and I think I am already doing it very well. Anyways, this mini was just perfect for that. 

I made it about 10 things I need to remember myself more often.We first built the base of the mini following Janna's instructions. She was awesome, very patient and she explained with a PDF very well. I got so concentrated on making this that I hardly talked during the whole morning. Hahaha But I had lots of fun!! 

After that, we decorated the mini with mainly the 6x6 Wanderlust Pad by Studio Calico and a few Lemonlush embellishments. Very simple but yet very stunning! I love the way she suggested us to add our own handwriting. It makes it more personal and more special too, don't you think?

Have you noticed the envelopes placed in the mini? It is such a good way to add more personal journaling. Right now this is one of the best albums that I have ever made and I love the result! Have you ever dare to make something like this?

¡Hola!

Lo prometido es deuda así que hoy estoy aquí para compartir el mini-álbum que hicimos con Janna Werner en el sexto aniversario de Kits de Somni en Barcelona. Janna nos sugirió hacer una mini sobre nosotras mismas o nuestros intereses. Estoy muy acostumbrado a hacer minis o páginas sobre mis amigos, mi pareja, familia o viajes pero hace unos meses me di cuenta de que casi nunca hacía cosas sobre mí  Por lo tanto, como propósito para este año decidí scrapear más sobre mí y creo que por ahora no lo estoy haciendo del todo mal. Por eso, este mini fue perfecto para mi propósito.

Lo hice sobre 10 cosas que debería recordarme a mí mismas más a menudo. Primero construímos la base de la mini siguiendo las instrucciones de Janna. Fue una profe increíble increíble, muy paciente y lo explicó perfectamente con un PDF. Yo estaba tan concentrada en completarlo que casi ni hablé durante toda la mañana. jejeje ¡Pero igualmente me lo pasé genial!

Después de eso, decoramos el mini principalmente con el librito 6x6 de Wanderlust de Studio Calico y algunos adornos de la colección Lemonlush. Muy simple pero muy impresionante. Me encanta el toque especial que da el añadir nuestra propia escritura. Realmente hace que sea más personal y, ¿no os parece?

Y, ¿os habéis fijado en todos los sobres que hay repartidos por el album?  Es una buena manera de añadir un diario un poco más secreto. En este momento éste es sin duda uno de los mejores minis que he hecho y me encanta el resultado! ¿Alguna vez os habéis animado a hacer algo como esto?

Love and My family layouts (Dear Lizzy & Janna Werner KDS 6th Anniversary)

Today I just wanted to share with as I promised the 2 fantastic layouts that I made at the workshops with Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy) and Janna Werner for the 6th Anniversary of Kits de Somni.

Inspired by Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy):

I love how this layout turned out! At first I wasn't too sure about the pink background paper but in the end I ended up liking it because it makes the hearts pop out a little bit more. We mainly played with mists and masks, and acrylic paint on the 12x12 piece of wood. I also used the Cricut paper cutting machine for the first time to make those paper hearts and it was fun!! 

For this project I chose 2 screen shoots of our daily Facetime routine. Well, maybe not daily but weekly at least hehe Sometimes the time difference (7 hours) make it difficult to find the right moment for both of us to chat. So I really wanted to document those moments.

Inspired by Janna Werner:
The kit for this layout was mainly composed by the Plus One Collection from Amy Tangerine. What I love the most about this one is that we built up a multilayer layout with even a mini accordion album inside the pocket. We also played with molding paste, watercolors and glitter.

For this page I looked through some old family albums and I chose 4 photos about my family that I simply love. It doesn't matter where life takes you as long as you remember where you came from and who are the people that has always been there for you right. It was a kind of throwback layout :)

Hoy sólo quería compartir como prometí los 2 fantásticos diseños que hicimos en los talleres con Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy ) y Janna Werner en el 6º aniversario de Kits de Somni.

Inspiración de Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy) :
¡Me encanta el resultado final de esta página! Al principio no estaba muy convencida sobre el papel de fondo de color rosa, pero al final me ha terminado gustando, ya que hace que la pieza de madera y los corazones destaquen un poco más. Principalmente usamos pintura en spray junto con máscaras y pintura acrílica sobre la pieza de madera de 12x12. También usé la Cricut  o máquina de corte por primera vez para hacer esos corazones de papel y la verdad ¡fue muy divertido y super simple!

Para este proyecto he elegido 2 capturas de pantallas de nuestra rutina diaria con el Facetime. Bueno, tal vez no sea una rutina realmente diaria, pero de un par de días a la semana al menos sí. jeje A veces la diferencia horaria (7 horas) hace que sea difícil encontrar el momento adecuado para ambos para charlar. Así que quería documentar esos pequeños momentos de diversión.

Inspiración de Janna Werner:
El kit para esta página se componía principalmente por la colección Plus One de Amy Tangerine. Lo que más me gusta de esta página es que hemos construido un diseño de múltiples capas con un mini álbum de acordeón en el interior del bolsillo y todo. También jugamos con la pasta de moldear, acuarelas y purpurina.

Miré a través de algunos viejos álbumes familiares y elegí 4 fotos acerca de mi familia me encantan. Ha sido una pequeña vuelta atrás, a los recuerdos de cuando era pequeña. Porque no importa donde te lleve la vida, siempre y cuando recuerdes de dónde vienes y quién es la gente que siempre ha estado ahí para ti.  :)

KDS 6th Anniversary event

Hello everyone!

Today I want to tell everything about the weekend of the 6th Anniversary of Kits Somni in Barcelona. Yes, I know, you have probably already seen it on other blogs and on Instagram during these past days but just in case someone missed it ;)

For me this was the first course I attended and I have to admit that it was a very enriching experience. The entire weekend was great, full of scrap, good company and lots of excitement. What a good course to get started in this, right?

It was also the perfect opportunity to meet in person a lot of friends I made through scrapbooking. Although in the end with all the excitement, the fact that that we were all super concentrated to not miss the explanation and let's face it, buying at the little store they organized there and taking little breaks to taste the sweets we had there, I did not have the opportunity to greet all the people who I wanted. 

Anyway, we arrived bright and early at Hotel Silken Ramblas where the whole team Somni Kits were waiting for us with cute welcome bags with Escrap products, Mummy Crafts products and other goodies.

The room was fully prepared so it could accommodate 80 people (10 tables of 8), plus , as I said before, a little shop full of amazing products, a photocall, a screen projector for teachers and a small catering table.

 

The classes were very well organized. They gave us a PDF for each table with the step by step process while the teachers showed us explanatory step by step videos on the big screen. Also in case anyone got lost with the english, Xenia from Kits Somni was translating everything simultaneously.

On Saturday we made a mini album with Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy) and a layout in the evening with Janna Werner. Both incredible!




And on Sunday we made it backwards. We started the day with a mini album with Janna Werner and ended up with the Elizabeth Kartchner 's layout.


 

Dear Lizzy or Elizabeth Kartchner  is one of my favorite scrapers of all time. In fact I found the scrapbooking world and everything behind it through her website, specially through her mini albums. And of course her products were the first ones I owned. So, I was thrilled to meet her in person. She's incredibly cheerful, very sweet, funny and she had a lot of fun and great ideas to incorporate to the projects. 

Janna Werner is another of my favorite artists because she makes sweet and artistic projects. She had the classes super well planned and organized. I can not believe I almost finished her mini album at class! She showed us a lot of fun techniques and although she might look a little shy at first she was also very nice and funny.

And what about Collin Kartchner or El Marido as we called him? He is Elizabeth Kartchner's husband. Such a super fun, spontaneous man and, above all, a constant support for Elizabeth! Now he became part of the team of the app that is revolutionizing the web: Studio app. And even if you haven't download it yet, what are you waiting for?

¡Hola a todas!

Hoy os quiero contar como fue el finde del 6 aniversario de Kits de Somni en Barcelona. Si, lo se, seguro que ya lo habéis visto en otros blogs y en Instagram durante todos estos días pero bueno por sí alguien aun se lo ha perdido ;)

Para mí este ha sido el primer curso presencial al que asistía y fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora. Fueron 2 días magníficos, llenos de scrap, de buena compañia y de mucha emoción. ¡Si es que qué mejor curso para empezar!

Además fue la oportunidad perfecta para conocer en persona a un montón de amigas que había hecho en la red a través del scrapbooking. Aunque al final entre que estas super emocionada, concentrada en los cursos para no perderte la explicación y seamos sinceras, en cotillear la tienda y tomarte un descansito para picotear los dulces que teníamos allí, no tuve ocasión de saludar a toda la gente que me hubiera gustado. Pero bueno, ¡para la próxima!

En fin, llegamos bien tempranito al Hotel Silken Ramblas donde nos esperaba todo el equipo de Kits de Somni con unas bolsas de bienvenida monísimas con productos de Escrap, Mummy Crafts y otros detallitos.

La sala era muy amplia y estaba totalmente acomodada para 80 personas (10 mesas de 8), además de, como ya he comentado, una tienda bastante repletita de productos, photocall, pantalla con proyector para las profesoras y una pequeña mesa de catering. 

El sabado realizamos un mini album con Elizabeth Kartchner (Dear Lizzy) y un layout por la tarde con Janna Werner. ¡Ambos increibles!

Y el domingo al reves, comenzamos a la mañana con un mini album de Janna Werner y terminamos con un layout de Elizabeth Kartchner.

Dear Lizzy o más bien Elizabeth Kartchner ha sido siempre una de mis scraperas favoritas. De hecho empecé a conocer el scrap y todo este mundillo a través de sus mini albums en su web y por supuesto sus productos fueron los primeros que tuve. Por eso me hacía muchísima ilusión conocerla en persona. Es una chica increíblemente cercana, alegre, y muy dulce. Vamos, ¡majísima!

Janna  Werner es otra de mis artistas favoritas ya que hace unos proyectos muy artísticos y dulces. Tenia todo super bien planeado y organizado y aun no me puedo creer que me diera tiempo a casi terminar su mini album. Nos enseño un montón de técnicas además y aunque se ve un poco tímida también fue un encanto.

Y como olvidar a Collin Kartchner o El Marido como nosotras le llamábamos ya que se trata del marido de Elizabeth Kartchner y todo un personaje jeje Super divertido, espontáneo y sobre todo un apoyo para Elizabeth en todo momento. Ahora esta metido en el equipo de la app que esta revolucionando la red: Studio. Y si aun no te la has bajado, ¿a qué esperas?

Muchísimas gracias a todo el equipo de Kits de Somni por organizar este pedazo de evento. ¡Simplemente increíble!

Y después de esto, no os marchéis muy lejos ya que iré compartiendo poco a poco los proyectos más en detalle.

Hello Happiness (Biscuit Project Challenge)

And welcome back for another monthly sketch challenge by Biscuit Project. But first, let's have a look into this month's sketch and the kit. To create this layout I used the Biscuit Project May Scrap Non-stop kit (find it here). This month you can find on their shop two amazing kits as well as many new items in their shop. Here you have a peek on their awesome kit and on the sketch.

Before I even received the kit, the moment I saw the kit photo, I instantly fell in love with the pretty polka dot paper included in it. So, I decided it was pretty enough to not use it as a background. I know that I normally tend to use softer backgrounds but it was so pretty... so this became a bit of a challenge to me too.

As I already had a lot of color, I didn't want to add more patterned paper. But in order to have a place to put my photo I added a piece of white cardstock following always the sketch directions.

I noticed that the photo in the sketch had a little frame which was perfect, because in the kit there is a little package of fun frames that I really wanted to include in my project.

Then, I started playing with the stickers and the transparency shapes, trying different arrangements until I found the one I liked the most. I mainly used black, white and a bit of pink to continue with the color combo I already had. 

The speech bubbles are super cute elements to add a few words or even write your journaling. I used a permanent black pen to write "Hi!" and a little chevron on one of the bubbles. A few white ink splatters and some stamping and the page was done!

Y bienvenidos de nuevo a otro desafío mensual con sketch de Biscuit Project. Pero primero, vamos a echar un vistazo al boceto de este mes y al kit. Para crear este diseño he utilizado el kit de Mayo Scrap Non-Stop de Biscuit Project (podéis encontrarlo aquí). Además este mes podéis completar este kit con muchos productos nuevos en su tienda. 

Cuando vi la foto del kit, antes de incluso recibirlo, me enamoré al instante del papel de lunares tan bonito que venía en él. Y por supuesto no podía desaprovecharlo así que decidí lanzarme y utilizarlo como fondo. Sé que normalmente tiendo a utilizar fondos más suaves, pero es que era tan mono....por lo que usar un fondo con un diseño tan fuerte fue un pequeño desafío extra para mí.

Pero claro, como ya tenía un montón de color, no podía añadir más papeles así que usé un trozo de cartulina blanca para tener un lugar donde poner mi foto; siguiendo siempre las instrucciones del sketch.

También me fije que en el sketch la foto estaba dentro de un marco, lo cual era perfecto, ya que en el kit se incluye un pequeño paquete con marcos super divertidos para añadir a las fotos.

Después, empecé a jugar con las pegatinas y las formas de transparencia, probando diferentes diseños hasta que encontré el que más me gustó. He utilizado principalmente negro, blanco y un poco de color rosa para continuar con la combinación de colores que ya tenía.

Los bocadillos son perfectos para añadir unas pocas palabras como detalle. Por ejemplo, con un rotulador permanente negro escribí "Hi!" y dibujé un pequeño chevron en una de las burbujas. Para terminar añadí unas pequeñas gotas de pintura blanca en spray y unos cuantos sellos.

Espero que os atreváis con este sketch y que lo disfrutéis tanto como yo al hacer esta página.
