Candles & Piñata

Hey!

How was the weekend? I hope you had a wonderful one, now that we are officially in Spring. I am so tired of wearing layers and layers of clothes, aren't you? hehe I can't wait for the nice weather to come :)

Anyways, today I have such a fun page to share with you. It's like a party on a layout! By now, I hope you had noticed the huge confetti pocket I added to the background. The photos are from my birthday last February with my family. We are trying to bring back for my niece one of the best things my mom used to prepare for our birthdays when we were kids: a piñata!! Oh men, I love our little birthday traditions.  So, I wanted to translate that fun piñata idea to a layout... and what could be better than adding a huge confetti pocket made of vellum and filled with wood veneers numbers, stars and confetti? hehe Exactly!

For the ones that are thinking: oh that's so cute but I don't have a sewing machine... I indeed hand stitched the vellum to the page by pre making the holes with an Amy Tangerine sewing set before adding the thread by hand. I hope  this layout inspired you to try something like this for an upcoming birthday party!

¡Hola!
