On ice

Hello there,

I hope you are having a great start of the week. Did you manage to find a moment to scrap during the weekend? I didn't. But at least I took a few photos of some of the projects that I already completed. As the one that I am showing you today.

Although summer adventures are always my absolute favorite to document, this year I found that winter layouts can be as much as fun! For this page, I used my favorite technique to de-stash some loose alphabet letters and numbers (that I learned from Dear Lizzy long time ago) with which I tried to mimic the skates-marks on the ice.

Salvation Mountain mini album

Hello everyone!

Time to share another mini album before the year comes to the end. I know everyone now is totally focused on december daily and on documenting all those little amazing moments of these holidays but maybe you can find some inspiration from this one too.

This album features our favorite photos from the day we went to Salvation Mountain in California. It is such an inspiring and colorful place in the middle of the desert with the purpose of spreading just a message of love. I tried my best to translate my memories of that place into this mini album by using colorful papers and even hand painting the cover so you could easily know what this mini is all about. Hope you enjoy it!

Joshua Tree National Park mini album

Happy Sunday everyone,

Just checking in really quick to show you a little mini album I made last month to document our day at the Joshua Tree Park in California. Now that the days are gloomy, let's cheer up with some sunny days adventures! ;) 

The mini is a little bit bigger than 4x3, I love that size! And inside the envelope I kept the entrance ticket, map and information about the trails. Seriously, we had so much fun at this place!

Morning walks & Castro

I am back!

I am sorry it took me so long to post a new page but, you know, life happens. ;) Easter holidays were just perfect. We enjoyed very much outdoors, we also had time to relax and to take lots of photos of our daily adventures.  I am so glad we took so many photos because now I can enjoy scrapping with them.

As I said, sometimes I have so many photos of the same event/day that it is impossible to choose just a couple of them to document that moment. That is the reason why, I normally go with either a mini album or a multi-photo layout... or both! Double the fun! hehe 

During these weeks, I'll be posting a few more pages with multiple photos. So, stay tuned. I also got inspired by Marcy Penner's work this lately (she was my inspiration for this page as well) so again if you love her style be sure to stay tuned.

¡Ya estoy de vuelta!

Siento mucho que me tomara tanto tiempo publicar una nueva página, pero, ya sabéis, a veces pasa. ;) Las vacaciones de Semana Santa han sido simplemente perfectas. Disfrutamos muchísimo al aire libre, también tuvimos tiempo para relajarnos y tomar un montón de fotos de nuestras aventuras diarias. Estoy muy contenta de que tomáramos tantas fotos porque ahora puedo disfrutar scrapeandolas.

Como ya he dicho, a veces tengo tantas fotos del mismo evento / día que es imposible elegir sólo un par de ellas para documentar ese momento. Esa es la razón por la cual, normalmente opto por crear un mini álbum o un diseño multi-foto ... o ¡ambos! ¡El doble de diversión! jeje

Durante estas semanas, voy a publicar algunas páginas más con varias fotos. Por lo tanto, estad atentos. También me he inspirado mucho en los trabajos de Marcy Penner  últimamente (ella fue mi inspiración para esta página también) así que de nuevo si te gusta su estilo, asegúraos de estar atentos.

Weekend in Madrid

Hey there,

Have you ever had one of those days when you are in the mood to create something quick and simple? Well, it happened to me the other day. Nothing fancy. No over-thinking. No techniques. Just a simple documentation. I think I like to make some of this kind of pages once in a while because they balance the ones with lots of designs and techniques on my album. Don't you agree?

I had on hand 8 squared photos of my weekend in Madrid from Instagram so I decided to go with a grid design (very simple) to cover half of the page while I added my title on the other half. I like how the photos take most of the attention while the title and journaling are more like a side note to explain what is going on on the photos. For the embellishments and papers, I used mostly neutral colors with a pop of blue and yellow to balance again both sides of the page.

¿Alguna vez habéis tenido uno de esos días en los que te apetece crear algo rápido y sencillo? Nada del otro mundo. Sin pensar mucho. Sin técnicas. Sólo una documentación sencilla. Bueno, a mi me pasó el otro día. Me gusta hacer este tipo de páginas de vez en cuando, ya que creo que equilibran el álbum donde las guardo al contrastar con aquellas que tienen mucho diseño y están llenas de técnicas. ¿No os parece?

Tenía a mano 8 fotos cuadradas de mi fin de semana en Madrid en Instagram, así que decidí ir con un diseño de tipo rejilla (muy simple) para cubrir la mitad de la página. En la otra mitad de la página decidí añadir con un diseño muy simple mi título y los adornos. Me gusta cómo las fotos toman la mayor parte de la atención, mientras que el título y lo que cuento son más como una nota al margen para explicar lo que está pasando en las fotos. Para los adornos y papeles, he utilizado sobre todo colores neutros con un toque de azul y amarillo para equilibrar de nuevo las dos caras de la página.

Sequoia National Park Mini Album

As I said before, this year I want to make more mini albums as each day I am more and more in love with this kind of format. I really like how each mini album is different from the others, different mood, size, colors and elements. I love how they have their own personality! You can document from a specific day or moment to a whole travel or even just everyday photos. I have to admit that I have already started working on the next one ;) Of course, I chose a different size and format. But you will have to wait a couple of weeks more to see it.

For today's mini album I worked with the accordion format (you will appreciate it better on the last photos). It is very simple but yet I didn't thought of making one like this before. And with this weather, I was totally in the mood for some nature/ hiking mini album. So, I decided to document a day at the Sequoia National Park in California from this last autumn vacations. Believe me, that place is AMAZING... So, if you ever have the chance to visit it, go for it. It is truly worth it. 

I worked mainly with greens and wood (or neutrals) with pops of mustard, red and gold. The size is 4x3 and each side has 6 pages making a total of 12 4x3 including the cover and back. I also added a little pocket onto one of them to add my journaling. To make it more fun, I adhered to one of the pages a transparency with some trees (so cute) and you can flip it and read the quote I wrote below. I hope you like it!

Como ya comenté anteriormente, este año quiero hacer más mini-álbumes, ya que cada día estoy más y más enamorada de este tipo de formato. Me gusta mucho cómo cada mini-álbum es diferente a los demás; diferente estado de ánimo, tamaño, colores y elementos. Se puede documentar desde un día específico o un momento hasta todo un viaje o incluso fotos del día a día. Tengo que admitir que ya he empezado a trabajar en el siguiente ;) Por supuesto, elegí un tamaño diferente formato. Pero tendrá tendréis que esperar un par de semanas más aun para verlo.

Para el mini álbum de hoy he trabajado con el formato de acordeón (podréis apreciarlo mejor en las últimas fotos). Es muy simple, pero todavía no se me había ocurrido hacer uno como este antes. Y con este tiempo tan invernal, me apetecía un montón hacer algo relacionado com la naturaleza o senderismo. Así que, decidí documentar un día en el Parque Nacional de Sequoias en California de esta últimas vacaciones de otoño. Creedme, este lugar es increíble, así que si alguna vez tenéis la oportunidad de visitarlo, realmente vale la pena. 

He trabajado principalmente con verdes y color madera (o neutros) con toques de mostaza, rojo y dorado. Tiene un tamaño de 4x3 y cada lado tiene 6 páginas que hacen un total de 12  de 4x3 incluyendo la portada y la parte de atrás. También he añadido un pequeño bolsillo en uno de los lados para añadir una etiqueta donde escribir nuestras aventuras. Para hacerlo más divertido, adherí a una de las páginas una transparencia con algunos árboles (super mono) y se puede voltear y leer la cita que escribí debajo.¡Espero que os guste!
