Pen-pals cards (Glitz Design CT)

Hello,

It has been a while since the last time I shared hand made cards here. But it doesn't mean that I stopped making them although I have to admit that I don't make them so frequently as before. But it is always nice to make cards for pen-pals, family and friends' birthdays or my favorites Christmas Greetings.

I created this set keeping in mind my previous page with Glitz Design (find it here). I liked so much the color palette of it that it totally inspired me to create a fun set of cards to send to a few of my pen-pals. I noticed the Fall or Halloweeny look of them but Hey! it is never too early to start preparing for the next season, right? ;)

When I create a set of cards I like to use the same sketch for all of them but ending up with completely different designs. For this one I chose to incorporate a 2" circle as the main focus of the page. To make give some texture to the cards I used pop dots for the circles to stand out a little bit more.

These cards are more or less 3,5" x 2,5" of size and for the background I used a mix of stickers and pieces of 6x6 papers. I love how tiny they are and how easy is to included them in an envelope with other goodies!

Hola, 

Ha pasado un tiempo desde la última vez que compartí tarjetas hechas a mano por mí. Pero eso no quiere decir que haya dejado de hacerlas: aunque tengo que admitir que yo no las hago con tanta frecuencia como antes. Pero siempre es bueno hacer tarjetas para amigos por correspondencia, la familia y los cumpleaños de mis amigos o mis favoritas tarjetas Navideñas. 

He creado este conjunto teniendo en cuenta mi página anterior con Glitz Designs (podeís encontrar la aquí). Me gustó mucho la paleta de colores de la misma la cual me ha servido de inspiración para crear estas tarjetas divertidas que enviaré probablemente a algunos de mis amigos por correspondencia. Me di cuenta de que tenían un poco de aspecto otoñal o de Halloween , pero ¡oye! nunca es demasiado temprano para comenzar a prepararse para la próxima temporada, ¿no? ;) 

Cuando creo un set de tarjetas me gusta usar el mismo boceto para todas ellas, pero terminando con diseños completamente distintos. Para esto he optado por incorporar un círculo de 2 "como el foco principal de las mismas. Para darle un poco de textura a las tarjetas he empleado pop dots detrás de los círculos. Así, destacan un poco más. 

Estas tarjetas son más o menos de unos 3,5 "x 2,5" de tamaño y para el fondo he utilizado una mezcla de pegatinas y trozos de papeles de 6x6. ¡Me encanta lo pequeñas que son y lo fácil que me va a resultar incluirlas en un sobre con otros detalles para mis amigos!

Feel (Biscuit Project DT)

Hello, 

Today I show you the page I made with the July Scrap Non-Stop kit of Biscuit Project. 

One of the things that I love the most of this warm season is the fact that I can feel the grass under my bare feet. I love to walk with no shoes at home all the time, literally ALL the time. Ok. In winter I wear super cozy socks but that is just because it is too cold. So, when the warm weather arrives and it is time again to have fun making BBQs and picnics, you will probably see me leaving my sneakers on a side and being happy playing with the grass among my toes. :)

As soon as I saw the flower paper by Carta Bella y knew I had just to cut them out and used them as embellishments. The texture of the Carta Bella papers are amazing, they feel just like texturized cardstock. So, I played around with them until I decide to place them as a half wreath. They matched perfectly the wood paper and the theme of this layout. 

I also used the abbreviations of the months of the Summer stamps by Yoy Scrap to make a row between the cardstock and the papers. I used them also to add an extra detail on the bottom part of the page where I stamped my age and I wrote about how I felt.

I hope that this is one of your favorite things about the summer as well and I am not the only weird one walking bare foot out there.

Hoy os muestro la página que hice con el kit Scrap No-Stop de julio de Biscuit Project. 

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de esta estación del año es poder sentir la hierba bajo mis pies descalzos. Me encanta caminar sin zapatos en casa todo el tiempo, literalmente, TODO el tiempo. Vale. En invierno me pongo calcetines super gorditos pero eso es porque hace demasiado frío. Así que, cuando llega el buen tiempo y es hora de volver a divertirse haciendo barbacoas y picnics, es muy probable encontrarme, con mis bambas a un lado,  jugando con la hierba entre los dedos de los pies. :) 

Tan pronto como vi el papel de flores de Carta Bella, supe que tenía que recortarlas y usarlas como adornos. La textura de los papeles de Carta Bella es increíble. Decidí jugar un poco con ellas hasta que me decidí a colocarlas como una media una corona de flores. Combinan perfectamente con el papel de madera y el tema de este página. 

También usé los sellos de Yoy Scrap, en especial los de los meses de verano para hacer una fila entre la cartulina y los papeles. Los he usado además para añadir un detalle adicional en la parte inferior de la página en la que puse mi edad y lo que sentía. 

Espero que esto también sea una de vuestras cosas favoritas del verano y no sea la unica rara que anda por ahí descalza.

Yellow is the new black (Glitz Design CT)

This is my first project with Glitz Design and I couldn't be more excited to finally shared it with you!

Let's have a look on the page:

I started by choosing my photo. I really wanted to document this photo with my new yellow skirt as right know I am kind of obsessed with this color. Isn't it the brightest skirt ever? hehe

So, to transmit the same feeling to the page I started by creating a mix media background with yellow and orange gelatos. You just have to paint some stripes with them and then add water to make them flow. 

Once by background was completely dry, I placed my photo on top of it with pop dots for more texture. Then I continued decorating the page with a few Glitz Design goodies. I tried to keep the embellishments as simple as I could to make sure that the background was still the main focus of the page. I used a 4x3 card to which I punched out the sentiment to make kind of a window. 

To finish the page I added my title with gold alphabets and a bit of hand journaling. Some gold ink splashes here and there and the page is done!

Hola, 

Este es mi primer proyecto con Glitz Designs y no podría estar más emocionada de poder al fin compartirlo con vosotras. Os dejo el enlace para ver mi post allí y sería fantástico si pudierais decirme que os ha parecido jeje

Vamos a echar un vistazo a la página: 

Empecé por elegir mi foto. Tenía muchas ganas de documentar esta foto: yo con mi nueva falda amarilla. La verdad es que estoy un poco obsesionada con este color últimamente. ¿No es la falda más alegre que hayáis visto nunca? jeje 

Quería transmitir ese mismo color y vivacidad así que me decidí a realizar un fondo de  con gelatos amarillos y naranjas. Si queréis hacer uno igual, sólo tienes que pintar algunas rayas con ellos y luego añadir agua para hacer que la pintura fluya. 

Una vez que el fondo estaba completamente seco, coloqué mi foto con pop dots para  que resaltara un poco más. Luego continué decorando la página con adornos de Glitz Designs. Traté de mantener el diseño tan simple como podía para asegurarse de que el fondo seguía siendo el foco principal de la página. He utilizado una tarjeta de 4x3" a la que recorte el centro con un punch de 2" para conseguir una especie de ventana. 

Para terminar la página añadí mi título con letras doradas y un poco de escritura propia; unas gotas de tinta dorada salpicando por aquí y allí, y ¡listo! Facil ¿no?

Shine!

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a great weekend! I spent mine mainly scrapbooking and watching movies because I wasn't feeling very well and outside was cold and rainy the whole weekend (surprise surprise hehe). But I am happy because I made it to the ecuador of this 3 month stay in Germany which means I can start counting the days to be back home Yay! But don't take me wrong I am loving my stay here and being by myself most of the time is really helping me to rediscover who I am a little bit more.

Also, one of the things that I have discovered is that I enjoy making scrapbook pages with cheerful reminders for myself.  So this page is one of those.

I have mainly used one of the latest Studio Calico Scrapbook kits: Camelot. I love the whimsical feeling of the whole kit and I tried to do my best to transfer that felling to this page.

The journaling says more or less: Remember that there is always always something to smile for. Shine! I love how Studio Calico once in a while includes a Lindsay Letters stamp in their kits. She is one of my favorites designers and her stamps always achieve to amaze me...

I also included a few embellishments from previous kits. Sometimes it gets a bit hard to kill completely a kit. So I like to incorporate them onto pages made mainly with new kits and not to hard them forever and never end up using them.

¡Feliz Lunes!

¡Espero que hayais tenido un buen fin de semana! Yo he pasado el mio principalmente escrapeando y viendo películas ya que no me sentía muy bien y fuera hace frío y llueve constantemente (sorpresa sorpresa jeje). Pero estoy contenta porque he llegado al ecuador de esta estancia de 3 meses en Alemania; lo que significa que puedo empezar a contar los días que me quedan para volver a casa. ¡¡Si!! Pero no me mal interpretéis. Esta experiencia esta siendo super enriquecedora y estar sola la mayor parte del tiempo verdaderamente me está ayudando a redescubrirme a mi misma un poco más.

Además, una de las cosas que he descubierto es que me gusta hacer páginas del scrap con recordatorios  y frases de animo para mí misma; para cuando me sienta baja de humor y me de por mi mirar mis albumes. Así que esta página es una de esas.

He utilizado principalmente uno de los últimos kits de Studio Calico: Camelot. Me encanta la sensación "dreamy" de todo el kit y realmente traté de transferir esa sensación a esta página. Me encanta cómo Studio Calico de vez en cuando incluye algún sello de Lindsay Letters en sus kits. Ella es una de mis diseñadores favoritas y sus sellos siempre lograr sorprenderme ...

También incluí algunos adornos de kits anteriores. A veces se pone un poco difícil acabar por completo con los kits. Así que me gusta incorporar lo que me sobra en páginas realizadas esencialmente con nuevos kits y así no ir acumulando restos y nunca llegar a usarlos.

July Challenge: Summer (Scrapaddictes DT)

I am so excited to finally share my first project for Scrapaddictes! This page is part of the July Challenge which is... Summer!  You can check the post on their blog here and see the projects of the other creative team members. I tell you, they are fabulous. So, for this page I used mainly the latest Elle's Studio collection called Shine and also a few items from the Basics and Wanderlust collections by Studio Calico.

I had fun cutting pieces of paper and making circles out of them all over the page. This is a technique that I found myself using a lot lately and I am in love with it. I like the texture the little cut pieces give to the page and the pop of color.

 I knew that my photo could get lost among this page so this time I went with a bigger photo!

I also added wood elements and soft grey circles to contrast the bright look of the ones I made.

Hola, 

Hoy estoy muy emocionada de compartir por fin mi primer proyecto para Scrapaddictes. Esta página forma parte del Desafío de julio, que es ... ¡Verano! Puedes ver el post en su blog aquí y ver los proyectos de los otros miembros del equipo creativo. Te aviso, son fabulosos. Y si quieres unirte a este reto no te olvides de compartir tu proyecto en su blog para tener la oportunidad de ganar un premio de 10 euros para gastar en la tienda de Scrapaddictes. ¿No es genial? 

Para crear esta página he utilizdo principalmente la colección de Elle's Studio llamada Shine, y también algunos artículos de las colecciones Basics y Wanderlust de Studio Calico. 

Me lo pase genial cortando pedazos de papel y haciendo círculos por toda la página. Esta es una técnica que me he dado cuenta que uso mucho últimamente y me encanta. Me gusta la textura que las pequeñas piezas cortadas dan a la página y el toque de color. Pero claro me temía que mi foto se perdiera en medio de tanto circulo así que decidí añadir una foto de un tamaño mayor esta vez. También he añadido elementos de madera y círculos grises de tonos suaves para contrastar el aspecto vivo de los que he hecho yo.

Donut worry!

Happy Monday!

I am back again with a page done with the latest Studio Calico Scrapbook Kits. The last kits (Camelot and Hello-Hello) made it into the top 5 of my all time favorites. They are super bright and fun with such cool designs and exclusive products... it's so hard to resist getting them, right? I also bought some of the most gorgeous add-ons ever to combine them with the main kit (as I am a subscriber, I have early access to the month kits and add-ons so I can grab them before they sell out).

So, this is the page I created with (mainly) the Hello-Hello kit. 

As I said before, I love how bright and happy these kits are so it was very easy to make a super fun page full of... donuts and silly selfies!;) 

The two donuts that I included as embellishments are part of a printable set by Oh Happy Day (you can find it here). And they totally inspired me to use circular photos which I cut with my 2" punch. I also punched out a couple of papers from the same kit to make a grid design.

Did you check out the title? hehe I love playing on words or puns and this one was very easy to make. (Donut worry = Don't worry). ;)

Happy Monday! 

Ya estoy de vuelta con más páginas hechas con los últimos kits De Scrapbooking de Studio Calico. Los últimos kits (Camelot y Hello-Hello) han conseguido llegar hasta el top 5 de mis favoritos. Me parecen increiblemente bonitos, alegres y divertidos con todo tipo de diseños frescos y productos exclusivos... es tan difícil resistirse a ellos.... ¿verdad? También caí en la tentación y me compre algunos de los kits adicionales para combinarlos con el kit principal (gracias a que soy suscriptora, tengo acceso temprano a los kits mensuales y los kits adicionales y puedo hacerme con ellos antes de que se agoten). 

Esta es la primera página que he creado con el kit Hello-Hello. 

Como he dicho antes, me encantan los colores vivos de estos kits, así que me resulto muy fácil hacer una página divertida llena de ... donuts y selfies tontas jeje ;) 

Los dos donuts que he añadido como adornos, son parte de un set gratuito de Oh Happy Day (podeis encontrarlo aquí). Y sin duda estos fueron mi inspiración a la hora de arriesgarme y incluir fotos circulares que corté con mi troquel de 2". También recorté un par de papeles incluidos en el kit para conseguir un diseño completo de 3x3 circulos. 

¿Te has fijado en el título? jeje Me encantan los juegos de palabras, sobre todo en ingles y este era muy fácil de hacer. (Donut worry = Don't worry o no te preocupes). ;)

Just sharing here really quick two pages that I made yesterday inspired by the fabulous first video by Ginny (find it here). Do you already know her? She always amazes me with her unique ideas and designs. She is truly one of the best for me (find her gallery at Studio Calico here).

So these are the pages. I went and did one 12x12 layout.

And one 6x8 layout to include in my Summer Handbook. Seriously, working on an smaller size is really becoming a passion for me. Let's see where this takes me. ;)

¡Feliz domingo!

Me paso muy rápido por aquí hoy para compartir dos páginas que hice ayer inspiradas en el fabuloso primer video de Ginny (podéis encontrarlo aquí). ¿Ya la conoces? Ella siempre consigue alucinarme con sus originales ideas y diseños. Para mí es verdaderamente una de los mejores sin duda (podéis encontrarla en la galería de Studio Calico aquí).

Estas son las páginas. Por un lado hice una página 12x12 y por el otro una de 6x8 para incluir en mi Handbook album sobre este verano. En serio, trabajar en un tamaño más pequeño se esta convirtiendo en una obsesión para mí. Ya veremos a donde me lleva esto. ;)

Disney Mini Album

It is funny how many times I have thought during these years about making a mini album of our day at Disneyland in 2011. It took me so long to decide how I was going to create it as it was such a special moment for me and I did want to make it well. In fact, I kept our tickets, the map we used and the 1st visit badge from that day in a box until now because I knew I wanted to remember that day the best that I could. And man, it feels so good to have finally found a place for them to stay and to love the result so much! 

Here is a look at my mini. I was inspired by Stephanie Bryan's take on the Fold Out mini album by Nicole Reaves at Studio Calico. The outside book measures more or less 4.25 x 4.25 inches and each page is 8x12 inches (except for the last one where I added the map which is 8x4). 

I tried to keep it simple using the same sketch for all of the pages (on the top row I always used a circle, on the second one 3 die-cut circles to resemble balloons at the park, gold stars and a magic related quote and on the third row I played with scrap papers and cork). On the last page at the bottom you can find a small envelope where I keep the tickets and my journaling. Enjoy!

Es curioso cómo muchas veces en estos años he pensado en hacer un mini álbum sobre el día que pasamos en Disneyland en 2011. Me ha costado un montón de tiempo decidir cómo iba a hacerlo, ya que era un momento tan especial para mí y no quería hacer algo rápido y medio chof simplemente por tenerlo hecho. De hecho he mantenido bien guardaditos en una caja  los tickets, el mapa que usamos y la chapa de primera visita desde de ese día hasta ahora porque sabía que quería recordar ese día lo mejor que podía. Y en serio, ¡qué bien sienta  haber encontrado finalmente un lugar para recordar esos momentos y además estar tan contenta con el resultado! 

Aquí va el mini. Me inspiré en el mini de Stephanie Bryan que hizo a partir del mini Fold Out de Nicole Reaves en Studio Calico. El exterior del libro es más o menos 4.25 x 4.25 pulgadas y cada página es de 8x12 pulgadas (a excepción de la última donde guardo el mapa que es 8x4). 

Traté de mantener un diseño sencillo y similar para todas las páginas (en la fila superior siempre he usado un círculo, en el segundo unos 3 círculos que se asemejan a globos, estrellas doradas y una cita relacionada con la magia y en la tercera fila he jugado con trozos de papel y el corcho). En la última página en la parte inferior, añadí un pequeño sobre donde guardo los tickets y mi diario. ¡Qué lo disfriteís!
